I believe in the fundamental concepts of architecture. It is not about style, a cultural fad or following a popular idiosyncrasy, but instead a vessel which enhances the dialogue between man and environment. There exists a benevolent union, created through sacrifice, diligence and the love for producing a useful, meaningful object. Great contemporary architecture acts like a sailboat capturing the wind, creating a magnanimous relationship between the natural and man made. Our environment becomes the precedent.

I believe in the act of making. I recently spent time with visiting lecturer Juhani Pallasmaa. He said, “all great architects continue to work with their hands throughout their lives,” and he encouraged me to continue to do so as well. There is great joy in this. I have continued to produce projects since graduation last spring through wood working, metal working and welding, as well as using contemporary methods of production with the Laser Cutter, CNC Router, 3D Printer, and Water Jet.
